Polish soldier killed in Afghanistan

28-year-old Senior Private Adam Szada Borzyszkowski died and another soldier was injured during mortar attack on Polish patrol, on 14 October in southern part of Ghazni province.

The attack took place to the south-west from the base of Polish Task Force FOB Warrior . Polish soldiers who were patrolling Highway-1 were shelled from a mortar. As a result of shooting Senior Private Adam Szada Borzyszkowski died and another soldier was injured.

Medical helicopters were called immediately, they transported the victim to field hospital in Ghazni. The state of health of the injured soldier is stable, his life is not endangered.

Senior Private Adam Szada Borzyszkowski was serving in 1st Battalion of Air Cavalry in Le¼nica Wielka. It was his second mission. In 2007 he served in Iraq.

He was 28 years old. He left his wife and a child.

 The families of the victim and of the wounded soldier were informed about the accident.
